Former MLC Muzaffar Hussain Honored with Rajiv Gandhi Krishi-Ratna Award 2023 for Innovative Agricultural Approach
The award ceremony, slated for May 21, will take place in Satrapur village, Ramtek, Nagpur, where Hussain will be felicitated.
Muzaffar Hussain, a former legislator and prominent Congress leader, has been bestowed with the prestigious state-level Rajiv Gandhi Krishi-Ratna Award 2023 for his remarkable contributions in the realms of organic farming and agricultural innovations.
Hailing from the drought-prone Vidarbha and Marathwada regions, Hussain has been actively supporting farmers for numerous years. His unwavering dedication revolves around guiding them in adopting climate-friendly agricultural practices, including multi-cropping, organic farming, and utilizing technology-driven methods that require minimal investment, making them suitable for small farmlands. Through his efforts, the productivity of farmers has witnessed a remarkable improvement.

The Krishi-Ratna Awards, which were started 16 years ago by the late parliamentarian Rajiv Satav, are presented annually to forward-thinking farmers who promote sustainable agriculture. The responsibility of administering these awards lies with the Rajiv Gandhi Krishi Vigyan Pratishthan, headed by Prakash Sable.
The award ceremony, slated for May 21, will take place in Satrapur village, Ramtek, Nagpur, where Hussain will be felicitated. Joining him in this celebration of agricultural excellence will be other worthy recipients, namely Dr. Shyam Deshmukh, Ranitai Bhandare, Pravin Bari Suyog Gorle, Anup Bagade, Sangitatai Dudhe, Vijay Bhuyar, and Ajinkyatara Shetkari Utpadak Company. Each of them will be recognized for their significant contributions in various areas of agriculture, dairy, and progressive farming.
