FMC Corporation, a prominent agricultural sciences company, recently introduced Galaxy NXT, a herbicide specifically designed for soybean crops, which are among the most widely cultivated crops in Madhya Pradesh. The company also unveiled drone spray services in the state.

The launch event for the innovative herbicide and drone spray service took place in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, with the presence of Mark Douglas, the President and Chief Executive Officer of FMC Corporation, and Pramod Thota, the President of the FMC Asia Pacific region.

As part of the event, a successful live demonstration of self-propelled boom spray services was conducted in farmers' fields, indicating plans to introduce this technology nationwide within the next three months.

The government-approved drone service, sanctioned by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), aims to enhance agricultural productivity while reducing the reliance on manual labor. These unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for agriculture offer improved control over spray uniformity and coverage, resulting in the precise application of crop protection products such as FMC's trusted brands like Coragen insect control and Benevia insecticide.

With each spray drone capable of treating approximately three to four acres in just 15 minutes, the spraying process becomes more efficient and manageable.

Additionally, the utilization of UAVs protects farmers from adverse climate conditions like dehydration and heat stroke.

FMC India has also taken the initiative to conduct customized training programs for farmers, emphasizing the optimal utilization of resources for various crops cultivated in India. The spray services are conveniently accessible through FMC India's Farmer App, which is available in regional languages.

"FMC's decision aligns with the Indian government's inclusive reforms aimed at integrating drones and other spray services to modernize agriculture across the nation. Embracing technological advancements is crucial to ensure crop protection and enhance food security. India leads the way in revolutionizing food systems, and this progress is exemplified in Madhya Pradesh, a state that embraces market-driven approaches, embraces technology, and prioritizes the welfare of farmers. As one of the first states where FMC has introduced spray services, Madhya Pradesh showcases our commitment to providing access and training to foster rural entrepreneurship. We are delighted to offer innovative solutions for soybean production ahead of the upcoming Kharif season and remain dedicated to contributing to the growth of the agriculture sector in Madhya Pradesh," stated Ravi Annavarapu, President of FMC India.
