FJCCI Prepares to Protest Against Jharkhand State Agri Bill
The FJCCI, the representative of traders and Industrialists in Jharkhand, has started the preparation to protest the government’s agriculture tax bill. On Saturday, the officials of the Federation of the Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries met their counterparts from the Panda Agriculture Market Committee over the taxation proposed in the bill.

On February 8, the officials decided to hold another meeting with the stakeholders to plan their future course of agitation for the withdrawal of the bill. Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais have his approval to the Jharkhand State Agriculture Produce and Livestock Marketing Bill 2022, on February 4.
This bill plans to levy a 2 percent tax on the consumers on farming produce that they purchase from the market committee and 1 percent on the produce that is destroyed immediately. The Governor suggested that the State Government may hold consultations with Stakeholders and will keep the interest of farmers in mind before fixing the tax slabs.
The FJCCI and the traders also met the agriculture minister Badal Patralekh and raised their concerns at several levels. He promised them that he would look into it. The FJCCI President Kishore Mantri said, that the process to implement it has begun. They do not want to hit the streets but they are left with no choice other than this.
