Fasal Launches The 'Fasal Fresh' Procurement Network To Revitalise Horticulture Value Chain
Fasal Fresh makes procurement easier by providing buyers with end-to-end traceability and demand-specific sourcing directly from their precision farm network.
Fasal, India's first sustainable horticulture farm network and one-stop shop for horticulturists, announced the launch of 'Fasal Fresh,' a farming output business. Fasal Fresh eliminates procurement intermediaries to ensure fair prices for farmers while bringing end-consumers export-quality produce grown with Fasal's proprietary farm-level crop intelligence systems.
Fasal's patented IoT system, Kranti, has eliminated guesswork in horticulture farming by providing advanced irrigation alerts, farm-level forecasts, and pest/disease forewarnings. Fasal now works with Indian farmers across 60,000 acres and 20+ crops who are utilizing this technology. Fasal Fresh, which has been in the works since last year with a focus on building the horticulture farming network, will directly bring precision-grown produce to end consumers via retailers/e-tailers, wholesalers, and exporters. Fasal Fresh is currently operational in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, with Mumbai operations set to begin in March of this year.
Shailendra Tiwari, Founder, Fasal, said, "Procurement of fruits across the country remains fragmented and hindered by several issues in the value chain like lack of any visibility of supply, quality inconsistency, and wastage of produce during transit, among others. However, by combining our progressive horticulture approach with differentiated tech deployed on large acreages and the Fasal Fresh network, we can solve many of these supply chain issues."
"We can completely transform the value chain by supplying buyers with a consistent supply of high-quality produce and significantly better compensation to farmers. The network is designed to bring a higher level of predictability and traceability to the horticulture supply chain at a scale never before possible."
Manoj Kumar, a veteran horticulture supply chain expert, has joined as Director, Fasal Fresh to drive the business vertical. "Through Fasal Fresh, we are excited to directly connect farmers growing high-quality produce using Fasal's IoT systems and advisories with exporters, modern retailers, and end consumers. The goal is to have guaranteed availability of precisely grown, high quality, and sustainable fruits with competitive pricing for end-consumers while ensuring transparency in deals and timely payments for farmers - all through the use of Fasal's end-to-end platform," said Manoj Kumar, Director, Fasal Fresh.
Our supply predictability allows for consistent availability of high-quality sorted, graded, and packed produce, allowing buyers to plan ahead of time and minimize transit loss. Fasal Fresh aspires to be a system that significantly simplifies the lives of farmers, sellers, retailers, and end-users in gaining access to safer and healthier fruits and vegetables at reasonable prices. Fasal Fresh promises access to safer, more precise, and sustainably grown fruits and vegetables, starting with conscious decisions to use only required levels of pesticides and ending with eco-friendly packaging.
