Farmers Will Receive A 90% Subsidy On Drip Irrigation Systems

Farmers can get a subsidy on drip irrigation systems through the Micro Irrigation Scheme, which is part of the PM Krishi Sinchai Yojana. Drip irrigation is also referred to as the drip irrigation technique. When this system is used in the field, water is delivered to each plant's roots drop by drop. There is no water waste, and every drop is used in irrigating the field. Irrigation with this system keeps moisture in the soil, so the plant doesn't need as much water. Farmers can thus produce more crops with less water by using drip irrigation.

In this series, the Bihar government provides farmers with a 90 percent subsidy for installing drip irrigation systems in their fields. Farmers in the state can apply for a subsidy to purchase and install drip irrigation systems through the Bihar government's scheme. As a result, approximately 60% of the water will be saved, and manure and fertilizer consumption will be reduced by 25 to 30%. The grant benefit is transferred to the farmers' accounts via DBT. Explain that the GST subsidy will not be paid under this scheme. The farmer will be responsible for paying GST.

Eligibility and terms for drip irrigation equipment subsidies

Some eligibility requirements and conditions have also been established for this, which are as follows:

• Both ryot and non-ryot farmers can benefit from the drip irrigation scheme.

• Only farmers with their land or land on lease for seven years will be eligible for this scheme.

• If the farmer owns his or her land, he or she must have LPC.

• If the land is leased, an affidavit of the lessor and lessee on 1000 rupee stop paper must be filed before a First-Class Magistrate for a 7-year registered lease.

• Drip irrigation requires at least 0.5 acres of land and a maximum of 12.5 acres of land.

• Farmers who have previously benefited from this scheme will be eligible for benefits again after seven years.

• To take advantage of this scheme, the farmer must be registered on the DBT portal.

• Small farmers can benefit from the scheme in groups.

• If the farmer takes advantage of the scheme, he must have access to water.

• If the farmer wishes to receive a self-subsidy in his bank account, his bank account must be linked to his Aadhaar.

• It is necessary to spend 16 percent of the total budgeted amount on Scheduled Castes and 1 percent on Scheduled Tribes, respectively.

• Online applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Documents required for submitting a subsidy application for drip irrigation equipment

To apply for a subsidy on drip irrigation equipment, you will need to provide the following documents:

• Land Ownership Certificate (LPC)

• Farmer's mobile number that is linked to Aadhaar. (You will receive an OTP on this mobile number for verification.)

• Farmers’ registration number.

How to Apply for a Drip Irrigation Equipment Subsidy

Farmers can apply for drip irrigation equipment subsidies online by visiting the scheme's official website. They must already have the farmer registration number for this. If a farmer does not have a Kisan Registration Number, he can obtain one by applying through the DBT Portal Bihar. The farmer will need his or her Aadhaar number to register.
