Farmers to Get Training to Adopt Drone Technology in Farming, Know the Training Schedule
East Singhbhum District in Jamshedpur to adopt drone technology in farming. The district administration has developed a training program for farmers. IFFCO is playing a crucial role in this initiative.
The Indian government, in collaboration with states and union territories, is actively working to provide essential services to citizens through various flagship schemes. One such initiative is the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra, which aims to reach vulnerable individuals who are eligible for various government benefits but have not yet been able to avail themselves of them.
The Yatra focuses on spreading awareness about these schemes, interacting with beneficiaries through personal stories, and enrolling potential beneficiaries based on details ascertained during the Yatra.
As part of the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra, the East Singhbhum district in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand is set to adopt the advanced drone technology for farming activities. Drones will be used to precisely and efficiently spray pesticides and urea in fields, with the goal of enhancing agricultural practices in the region. The initiative will target a variety of crops, including potato, pea, wheat, maize, mustard, and pigeon pea.

To support the implementation of drone technology in farming, the district administration has developed a comprehensive training schedule for farmers. The training will cover the basics of drone operation and maintenance, as well as how to use drones to safely and effectively apply pesticides and urea. The training schedule is as follows:-

The Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO) is playing a crucial role in this initiative by providing information and training about drone technology to farmers. IFFCO is a well-known cooperative society engaged in the production and distribution of chemical fertilizers and the marketing of agriculture-related products. The organization is renowned for its activities associated with the empowerment of farmers and cooperatives.
Mithlesh Kalindi, the District Agriculture Officer, highlighted that this move is in line with the vision of a "Developed India. It marks a step towards incorporating modern agricultural methods in the district.
