The farmers in Verna, Goa, are facing several challenges. The rising costs of farming are making it difficult for them to make a living. Delayed subsidy payments from the government are adding to their financial difficulties and privatization policies threaten to take away their land.

Currently, they are asking for the current 4 rupees per farmer to be raised to 12 rupees. They are worried about the impact of privatization policies, which they fear could harm small-scale farmers lacking adequate government support.

In response to these challenges, the farmers are demanding a significant increase in government subsidies and a stop to privatization. They are also calling for community farming, which is a more sustainable and equitable way to farm.

The farmers believe that their demands are essential for the long-term health of farming in Verna and for ensuring a stable food supply for their communities and the nation as a whole.

The farmers' demands are reasonable and should be met by the government. Increased subsidies would help to offset the rising costs of farming and make it easier for farmers to make a living. Community farming would help to protect agricultural land and promote collective responsibility.

The government should also reconsider its privatization policies. Privatization can lead to increased inequality and a loss of control over important resources. In the case of agriculture, privatization could lead to the consolidation of land in the hands of a few large corporations, which would harm small-scale farmers and consumers alike.
