Drone Spraying Awareness Drive Launched by Syngenta India in Punjab & Haryana
The drone undertaking of Syngenta India is currently moving through Punjab and Haryana regions. The primary objective engages with approximately 10,000 farmers hailing from diverse districts. This initiative strives to educate farmers about the advantages of employing drones for spraying.
Syngenta India has launched an extensive campaign to emphasize drones' importance in agriculture, especially in Punjab and Haryana. This initiative involves deploying approximately 100 drones to apply their advanced crop protection solution, Incipio.
This not only advances sustainable farming but also imparts modern practices' insights to empower farmers. As drones play an increasingly vital role in boosting agricultural efficiency, this endeavor seeks to educate farmers in Punjab and Haryana about the pros and cons of contemporary farming techniques. The campaign also highlights drones' potential to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and promote sustainable practices. The ongoing Syngenta drone campaign in these states aims to connect with around 10,000 farmers across various districts, elucidating the benefits of drone-assisted spraying.
Vijender Singh, an Olympic Boxing Bronze Medalist and esteemed guest, commended Syngenta India for its commitment to raising awareness about drone technology in agriculture. He praised drones for their potential to transform the agricultural landscape, offering not just new employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for young people, but also augmenting farming efficiency, resulting in better yields. Singh praised Syngenta for facilitating farmers with technology and innovative products such as Incipio and Simodis, designed respectively for paddy and vegetable crops.
The launch event featured live demonstrations that showcased the precision and efficiency of drone spraying. Over 600 farmers from Macchiwara in the Ludhiana district participated in the demonstration, underscoring their eager interest in adopting innovative technologies to elevate agricultural practices.

Susheel Kumar, Syngenta India's Country Head and Managing Director, underscored the vital importance of technology in achieving sustainable agriculture. He brought attention to Syngenta India's leading position in leading farmers towards adopting innovation, aimed not only at a more environmentally friendly future but also at amplifying productivity and boosting income.
Syngenta India's initiative in drone spraying involves deploying a substantial fleet of 500 agricultural drones across the nation, marking it as the largest agri-drone fleet in India. The company has additionally trained 150 drone pilots to support this initiative, as reported by the company.
Sachin Kamra, the Head of the Farmer Centric Ecosystem at Syngenta India, emphasized the company's commitment to progress driven by technology. He highlighted the introduction of drone spray solutions and the successful implementation of commercial spray services across several states, including Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka. He disclosed that Syngenta's drone technology has been used to spray 2643 acres commercially. During 2022, Syngenta's Drone Yatra passed through 13 states, covering a remarkable distance of 17,000 km, to heighten farmers' awareness of drone-based spraying.

Kamra further mentioned their intention to enhance and expand the drone ecosystem through collaborations with manufacturers, suppliers, and technology providers. This will involve close collaboration with industry experts to elevate drone capabilities, and operational efficiency, and address any technical limitations.
According to the statement from the agricultural company, Syngenta India remains a crucial contributor in ushering in a new era of sustainable and technology-driven agriculture through such initiatives, ensuring the prosperity of farmers and the environment.
