The government has kicked off a door-to-door campaign for the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme, making it easier for hardworking farmers. Now farmers don’t have to make trips to banks and deal with the complex paperwork. The goal is to bring the benefits of the KCC scheme directly to farmers' doorsteps.

KCC Door-to-Door Scheme for Rajasthan Farmers

In Rajasthan’s Chittorgarh, the District Collector, Lead Bank Manager, Cooperative Managing Director, and Agriculture Department joined forces. Their mission aims to encourage farmers to make the most of the KCC Scheme during ongoing camps. The aim is to reach all 240,946 farmers in the district, with 215,489 already benefiting.

As of October 1, the government has gone digital with the entire process. No more paperwork shuffling. It's all about a seamless, door-to-door digital experience. The collaboration between banks, Panchayats, and district administration is geared towards ensuring that more farmers get their hands on Kisan Credit Cards within the next three months.

How to Get Your Kisan Credit Card?

The government is rolling out a hassle-free process, making it easy for farmers to access the financial support they need. Here's how one can secure the Kisan Credit Card:-

Fill Out the Application Form: Start by completing a straightforward credit card application form.

Provide Land Documents: The next step is showing the land documents. It's a simple way for the government to understand your farming background and ensure you get the support you need.

Flash Your Identity Proof: The next step is showing your PAN card, Aadhar card, or driver's license for the identity proof. The government wants to make sure the process is convenient for you.

Low-Interest Loans for Agricultural Boost

The KCC, born in 1998, provides financial support to farmers. Holding a KCC lets farmers borrow up to Rs 3 lakh at a low 4 percent interest rate. Pay back on time, and the government throws in a 3 percent interest subsidy. The credit limit grows by 10 percent each year, and no collateral is needed for loans between Rs 1 to 1.80 lakh.

Dr. Ramesh Chandra Tiwari, a retired professor, emphasizes that the KCC aims to streamline credit for farmers. It's not just about seeds and fertilizers; it covers post-harvest expenses, consumption needs, and various agricultural investments. Commercial Banks, Small Finance Banks, and cooperatives are in charge of implementing the scheme.
