Dir Agriculture Introduces Hi-Tech Poly Houses In Arwani Anantnag, Khadniyar, Baramulla
In his address to farmers, Director Agriculture stated that agriculture mechanization is critical to the overall development of the agriculture sector.
Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal, Director Agriculture Kashmir, inaugurated high-tech poly houses in Arwani, Anantnag, and Khadniyar, Baramulla on 12th March 2023.
Along with tractors and other agricultural machinery to farmers, the Director Agriculture also began distributing vegetable seedlings raised on scientific lines in high-tech poly house conditions at Bijbehara Kitchen Garden and Arpath Anantanag.
In his address to farmers, Director Agriculture stated that agriculture mechanization is critical to the overall development of the agriculture sector.
He stated that the department is aggressively pursuing the ambitious goal of providing seedlings of various vegetable crops to valley farmers and that many initiatives have already been launched in this direction.
He praised the efforts of the officers/officials of the kitchen garden Bijbehara, Arpath, and requested that they organize farmer awareness and training programs with a focus on vegetable cultivation so that more farmers and educated youth can adopt this on a commercial basis.
Chowdhury Iqbal stated that seedling distribution will continue in stages throughout the valley. He stated that demand for vegetable seedlings is increasing year after year as backyard farming and kitchen garden cultivation expand, which is a positive trend for the agriculture sector's overall development.
The Director Agriculture also visited various districts in Anantanag and Baramulla to assess agricultural activities.
The Director Agriculture was accompanied by Ajaz Hussain Dar, Chief Agriculture Officer Anantnag, Yadvinder Singh, District Agriculture Officer Anantnag, Baramulla, and other senior department officers.
