Delhi Weather Today- 30 June 2023, Weather Forecast for Next 5 Days
The weather department has issued an 'orange' alert, indicating the need for preparedness. The alert highlights the potential for traffic disruptions and waterlogging, which were already reported in several parts of the city.
As heavy rainfall swept through parts of the national capital on Thursday, accompanied by a significant drop in temperatures, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a cloudy sky with light to moderate rainfall in Delhi for the next five days.
The minimum temperature plunged to 23.8 degrees Celsius, four notches below the seasonal average, simultaneously, the maximum temperature recorded was 34.2 degrees Celsius, as reported by the IMD bulletin.
In response to the intense rainfall experienced in Delhi and its surrounding areas, the weather department has issued an 'orange' alert, indicating the need for preparedness. The alert highlights the potential for traffic disruptions and waterlogging, which were already reported in several parts of the city.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) on the other hand, recorded by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) for the past 24 hours on Thursday was in the moderate category at 101. According to the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi, the air quality is expected to remain in the 'satisfactory' category from June 30 to July 2.
Turning our attention to other parts of India, the IMD has forecasted weather conditions across different regions. In Northwest India, light to moderate rainfall is expected, with isolated heavy rainfall in East Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and West Rajasthan during specific periods. Central India may experience light to moderate rainfall, with isolated heavy to very heavy falls likely in Madhya Pradesh.

West India should brace for light to moderate rainfall, with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall in Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra, while isolated extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Konkan and Gujarat regions.
In East and adjoining Northeast India, widespread light to moderate rainfall is anticipated, with isolated heavy to very heavy falls in various states. Lastly, South India is expected to receive fairly widespread rainfall, with isolated heavy and very heavy rainfall in several regions.
The changing weather patterns across the country present both challenges and opportunities. While the heavy rainfall and 'orange' alert for Delhi call for preparedness and caution, the forecasted rainfall in other regions offers potential benefits to agriculture and water resources. Residents and authorities must remain vigilant and stay updated on weather advisories to ensure the safety and well-being of all.
