Delhi Drenched in a Midweek Surprise, As Wednesday Will Welcome Showers of Relief
In a respite from the scorching heat, IMD has predicted rainfall in many parts of India. Delhi to soon get relief from Wednesday. Several states including Assam, Sikkim, Rajasthan, and several regions to receive rainfall.
According to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), rainfall is to hit many parts of India, which will be followed by a drop in temperature in the next four days. There will be rain in regions of western India, north-eastern provinces, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, and Madhya Pradesh, according to reports.
Delhi sees frequent heatwaves after temperature soared above 44 degrees Celsius. According to the Indian Meteorological Department strong surface winds with wind speed of 20 – 30 Kmph is expected to hit the city.
After May 24 (Wednesday), people will experience a reprieve from the oppressively hot weather thanks to a new western disturbance. IMD predicts that starting on Wednesday, a western disturbance over the western Himalayan region will bring hail, rain, and strong winds to the northwest plains. After Wednesday, Delhi may see the temperature dip to 28 degrees Celsius on Thursday, 26 degrees Celsius on Friday, 25 degree Celsius on Saturday, and a dip in temperature around 25 degrees Celsius on Sunday.

It is expected that in the next five days, high-speed and gust winds, rainfall, and thundershowers will bring down the mercury by 2-3 degree Celsius in several regions including north Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, etc.
According to the officials, the capital city will generously see a cloudy sky with light rain accompanied by a wind speed of 35-45 Kmph on Wednesday and Thursday. As heavy rainfall is predicted in several regions, the heatwave condition will prevail in regions of West Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh during the daytime.

On Monday according to the weather station, Safdargunj Observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 43.7 degrees Celsius. This is therefore been reported as higher above normal and the maximum very far this year. Currently, Delhi has been declared one of the major hottest states in the country.
