DeHaat, India's largest full-stack AgriTech platform, today announced that it has successfully onboarded more than 500 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) across 12 Indian states, directly affecting the livelihood of more than 30,000 associated member farmers.

DeHaat offers end-to-end agricultural services to farmers in India. Via its full-stack agri value chain products, DeHaat currently has 503 FPOs who are actively involved. DeHaat recently completed a $60 million Series E funding that was co-led by Sofina, Temasek.

The announcement comes as the Indian government has outlined plans in the Union Budget to form and promote 10,000+ FPOs across the country as well as expand digital technologies to boost the country's agricultural sector, including doubling down on efforts to enable agritech startups to drive farmer-centric solutions through the establishment of an Agricultural Accelerator Fund and the establishment of Digital Public Infrastructure for the sector. DeHaat, as a market leader in AgriTech, has a strong relationship with FPO-related nodal agencies such as SFAC and NABARD.

Shashank Kumar, Co-founder and CEO of DeHaat, commented on the achievement, saying, “DeHaat's partnership with 503 FPOs throughout 12 states is in line with our mission to put farmers at the forefront of everything we do, and our "Farmer's First" vision. Our technology-enabled 360-degree agri value chain interventions have resulted in 50-70% income increases for associated farmers while also allowing FPOs to receive complete institutional support for their overall sustainability.”

“Due to our restricted agri input demand and farm produce scale, we were unable to reach out to competing channels and were unable to offer a full range of agri services to our member farmers. We began our partnership with DeHaat 8 months ago and have been extremely thrilled with how our relationship has flourished. DeHaat provided us with access to the best source of agricultural inputs as well as a significantly lower farm gate price of paddy for our FPO. Furthermore, we receive complete logistical support for input delivery to our center as well as agri-produce aggregation,” said Shashi Bhushan, Director, Agrimeo Nalanda Kisan Producer Company Ltd.

He continued further, “We're also talking about the potential for financial services to be introduced on the DeHaat platform. We were able to provide overall agri value chain services worth INR 71 Lakhs to our member farmers in the last 8 months through association across input and output verticals, and we are confident that our business will grow to INR 1.5 Cr in FY 2023-24.”
