Around 10,000 farmers have been left with no harvest across 57,000 acres of land due to unexpected rains and hailstorms.

The district administration has already verified 70% of the claims of crop loss and is expected to verify the remaining 30% by Monday, as stated by officials. Once the verification process is completed, the compensation process for the affected farmers will begin.

Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, has reassured the farmers that the compensation amount will be directly transferred to their bank accounts by the end of May.

Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav has stated that 40 teams have been established to verify crop loss claims, and the remaining verification process is expected to be completed by Monday.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala recently held a video conference to review the progress of crop damage verification and the procurement of rabi crops at the state's mandis.

Moreover, in Gurgaon, around 10,000 farmers have already shared their crop damage details on the government's 'e-fasal kshatipoorti' portal. This portal is aimed at facilitating the process of reporting crop damage and seeking compensation.

Gurgaon has three mandis located in Pataudi, Sohna, and Farrukhnagar, where farmers can sell their crops at the minimum support price.

So far, the collective purchasing of mustard by the three mandis amounts to 69,000 quintals, while 1.5 lakh quintals of wheat have been procured compared to the total purchase of 1.8 lakh quintals in the previous season.

However, the national chairman of the OBC Cell of Congress, Ajay Yadav, has alleged that farmers are facing issues in submitting details of their crop damage on the portal due to technical glitches in many areas. Yadav has pointed out that the claims made by the government are not in line with the ground reality.

On the other hand, 1.8 lakh farmers have already provided information about crop damage across 11 lakh acres of farmland on the portal.
