Coimbatore Farmers Encouraged to Embrace e-NAM's Farm Gate Service
The Coimbatore district authority is encouraging farmers to utilize the farm gate service provided through the e-NAM initiative. Among the 157 regulated markets linked in Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore hosts nine markets.

The spokesperson from the Agricultural Marketing Department emphasized a recent advancement. According to their statement, the farm gate service, which was introduced three months ago, has gained significant traction among growers of maize, coconut, and copra.
Furthermore, there are ongoing activities to expand this service to include banana farmers in the Karamadai vicinity.
Among Tamil Nadu's 157 regulated markets integrated into the National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) scheme, Coimbatore district proudly hosts nine, encompassing locales such as Anamalai, Annur, Kinathukadavu, Sulur, Pollachi, and others. The department has submitted a proposal for the incorporation of the e-NAM service at the Karamadai market.
It was further told that Farmers who opt not to store their harvest or need loans can conveniently utilize the e-NAM app. They can list their produce for sale from the convenience of their residences.
Department representatives then verify the produce in person, grade it, and, if needed, evaluate moisture levels. This results in finalizing transactions without the requirement to transport goods to supervised markets.
