Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has stated that the state needs to usher in another agricultural revolution by developing new crop varieties and inventing new ways to promote agriculture.

The Chief Minister told a gathering at the Haryana Krishi Vikas Mela here today that scientists and research institutes, including Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University and Maharana Pratap Horticultural University, should collaborate to conduct research.

"We are ready to give every possible encouragement and support to these universities for research work. The desired work will not only reduce agricultural costs but will also improve yield quality, which will play a critical role in increasing farmers' income," said the CM.

"New experiments are being conducted to increase farmer income. The Export Promotion Council has been established by the government. An initiative will be launched to launch cargo flights from Maharaja Agrasen Airport, allowing fresh fruits and vegetables grown by state farmers to be exported to Arab countries," he said.

According to Khattar, the emphasis should be on increasing the variety of seeds. He also stated that the Marketing Board should make proper arrangements for the marketing of food grains.

He stated today that the excessive use of chemicals and pesticides had harmed the quality of food grains. "Adopting natural farming is a necessity, and the state government is providing various types of subsidies to promote natural farming," he said.

Meanwhile, Dinesh, of Dhandheri village in Hisar district, won a 55 HP tractor worth Rs 8.5 lakh, while Jogiram, of Fatehabad district, won a small tractor worth Rs 3.70 lakh. Ajit Singh of Deeg village in Faridabad district won a super seeder valued at Rs 2.25 lakh, and Joginder Singh of Niyana village in Hisar district won a power weeder valued at Rs 1 lakh.
