The District Collector, AR Rahul Nadh, took a significant step in supporting farmers in Chengalpattu, Chennai. On Monday, he distributed 164 power tillers and two power weeding machines to 166 farmers, amounting to a total cost of Rs 1.38 crore. This distribution of farm equipment comes in response to the recent report highlighting the declining welfare of farmers in the state. Recognizing the urgent need to boost the farming community, the government has initiated 'Kalignar’s All Village Integrated Agricultural Development Programme.'

As part of this visionary scheme, two power tiller machines will be provided to each of the 2,504 villages, amounting to a subsidy of Rs 43 crore for the current year.
