Case IH has recently introduced a groundbreaking lineup of redesigned Puma AFS Connect CVXDrive 185-260 and Multicontroller 185-220 powershift long wheelbase tractors, marking the most significant update since the original Puma tractors were launched 15 years ago.

Manufactured in Austria, these upgraded models come with numerous enhancements, such as a more spacious and quieter cab, customizable features, integrated AFS Connect telematics, boosted power, and a larger footprint. The flagship Puma AFS Connect 260 CVXDrive made its debut at the prestigious 2022 SIMA and EIMA shows, garnering widespread admiration from the agricultural community.

Enhanced Cab Design and Control Features

One of the most striking changes in the new Puma AFS Connect tractors is the redesigned cab. With an 8% increase in volume, operators now enjoy more head and legroom, along with additional storage options. But the standout improvement lies in the reduced internal noise levels, measuring just 66 decibels, setting a new industry benchmark. The cab interior boasts premium automotive-style trim, providing a comfortable and stylish workspace. Moreover, the cab now offers 11% more glass area, enhancing visibility and safety, and a wider windscreen wiper with a 240° coverage.

Case IH has prioritized comfort and control with the introduction of the new Multicontroller armrest on both Multicontroller and CVXDrive models. This feature incorporates numerous customizable options, including a turn-and-press encoder dial as an alternative to the 12-inch AFS Pro 1200 touchscreen for display navigation and feature selection. Operators can also configure CVX transmission and front axle suspension responses, and assign LED-lit remote valve paddles according to preference.

The AFS 1200 is supplemented by hot key quick-access buttons. Additionally, the semi-active hydraulic cab suspension, adjustable to individual preferences and varying terrain, enhances ride quality and comfort. For an even smoother ride, the optional Case IH Advanced Vehicle Suspension (AVS) further integrates the semi-active cab suspension, rear hitch, and front axle suspension, providing instantaneous reactions to changing surfaces.

AFS Connect Telematics and Tractor Implement Management (TIM)

The Puma AFS Connect models come equipped with the cutting-edge AFS Pro 1200 touchscreen terminal, which enables operators to set up and control AccuGuide guidance, adjust tractor and ISOBUS implement settings, and set up AFS Connect telematics. This technology records and transfers operating data to the MyCaseIH online portal, allowing remote machine monitoring and support by owners and, with permission, dealers. Each Puma AFS Connect tractor includes a standard five-year AFS Connect subscription, ensuring seamless connectivity and efficiency.

Furthermore, these tractors offer Tractor Implement Management (TIM), expanding the capabilities of ISOBUS-linked compatible equipment. TIM enables implements to automatically adjust the tractor's speed and steering based on workload, optimizing performance and efficiency when working with a baler or other compatible attachments.

Powerful Drivelines and Custom Possibilities

The new Puma tractors boast a compact 2.88m wheelbase and impressive rated power outputs of 180-220hp for Multicontroller models and 180-260hp for CVXDrive models. With Power Management boost, the maximum respective figures reach 224-260hp and 224-302hp. Additionally, the tractors offer up to 11% more power, 15% more fuel tank volume, and 18% more contact area due to larger tire options.

The Stage V 6.7-litre FPT NEF six-cylinder engines deliver remarkable torque, reaching up to 1,250Nm at 1,500rpm on the largest model, while also providing up to 11% more power across the range. The extended engine service interval of 750 hours ensures minimal downtime and increased productivity. For CVX models, the larger and stronger axles enable a gross vehicle weight of up to 15,000kg, allowing the fitment of up to 2.05m rear tires for increased traction and flotation.

Safeguard Connect: Enhanced Telemetry Services

To provide unparalleled service support, Case IH introduces Safeguard Connect, a combination of added-value telemetry services that encompass all aspects of tractor maintenance. This innovative offering complements AFS Connect telemetry and includes extended Safeguard warranty, pre-season inspection, dealer remote support, Max Service 24/7 back-up, AFS Connect subscription, and full operator training.

In conclusion, the release of the redesigned Puma AFS Connect tractors marks a significant milestone in agricultural technology. These state-of-the-art machines offer operators a larger, quieter cab with improved visibility and control features, alongside powerful drivelines and the latest AFS Connect telematics. With customizable functions and enhanced telemetry services, the new Puma AFS Connect tractors promise to revolutionize the farming industry and drive agricultural productivity to new heights.
