Under the scheme, farmers can get up to an 80 percent discount on a wide range of equipment. The program covers various ranges of agricultural equipment, including trowels, spades, sickles, pump sets, plows, and harvesters.

The amount of the subsidy varies depending on the category and type of equipment, but it can be as high as 80 percent. SC category farmers and farmers who buy equipment for crop residue management are eligible for a higher grant.
Farmers can also get a 40 percent grant to set up an agricultural machinery bank. This allows farmers to share expensive machinery, which reduces the cost of ownership and operation. Farmers can also get manual agricultural equipment kits for only Rs 200.

The program has been very popular with farmers in Bihar. As of October 10, 2023, 388 farmers in the Arwal district alone have applied for various agricultural equipment under the Krishi Yantrikaran Yojana.
