Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Impressed by Katihar Farmers for Advanced Agricultural Practices
On Sunday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was all praise for the Katihar farmers for their innovative agricultural practices under the horticulture mission in the district. He also asked the officials to make arrangements to make required arrangements for the local market to provide the sale of the produce. The CM, who visited the district as part of his Samadhan Yatra applauded the work done by Jeevika Didis through self-help groups.

On Sunday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was all praise for the Katihar farmers for their innovative agricultural practices under the horticulture mission in the district. He also asked the officials to make the required arrangements for the local market to provide the sale of the produce. The CM, who visited the district as part of his Samadhan Yatra applauded the work done by Jeevika Didis through self-help groups.
The CM saw horticulture activities being conducted by Arun Bhagat and also had a discussion with local farmers about their new farming practices including organic farming. The farmers also told the CM that their innovative farming practices have increased their income. It includes the production of spawn, fish, mushrooms, honey, vegetables, makhana, and bamboo.

Nitish Kumar also distributed cheques of Rs. 18 Lakhs among 30 families to carry out the livelihood activities under the Satak Jeevika Scheme. The beneficiaries were typically dependent on selling and producing toddy for livelihood. Nitish also distributed cheques to abandoned and divorced Muslim women and tricycles for persons with disabilities.
Under Bal Ashray Vikas Yojana, CM also inaugurated a shelter home for 200 children at Dighri. He also asked the officials to construct the Panchayat Sarkar Bhavan and install solar plates on the rooftop.
