BharatRohan and ESCAP Partner to Revolutionize Agriculture & Empower Smallholder Farmers
With ESCAP's support, BharatRohan aims to integrate inclusive business practices, furthering its impact on the agricultural landscape of Telangana and Haryana.
In a groundbreaking collaboration, BharatRohan, a trailblazer in drone services for agriculture, has joined forces with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) to usher in a new era of sustainable and inclusive agricultural practices in the states of Telangana and Haryana. This transformative initiative is part of the 'Regional Inclusive Business Models in Agriculture and Food Systems' program, generously funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
BharatRohan's mission extends far beyond mere profit, with a dedicated commitment to empowering smallholder farmers, improving export opportunities, and championing sustainable agricultural practices. With ESCAP's support, BharatRohan aims to integrate inclusive business practices, furthering its impact on the agricultural landscape of Telangana and Haryana.
The adoption of an inclusive business model underscores BharatRohan's commitment to equitable growth in agriculture. By prioritizing small farmers, the company aims to address challenges related to resource access and market entry, ensuring the active participation and autonomy of these farmers in the agricultural value chain.
A noteworthy aspect of this collaboration is BharatRohan's pledge to actively involve women farmers in value chain activities, promoting gender-inclusive agricultural practices and creating additional income opportunities. Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Endeva and Ecociate, BharatRohan has demonstrated its commitment to inclusive business by seeking coaching services as part of the ESCAP-supported inclusive business program.
Amandeep Panwar, CEO of BharatRohan, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, "Our mission is to empower smallholder farmers and promote sustainable agriculture in Telangana and Haryana. This partnership is not just about innovation; it's about making a tangible difference in the lives of farmers and fostering a sustainable future for agriculture."
The Inclusive Business Coaching program, supported by ESCAP, will play a pivotal role in identifying critical resources and expert connections essential for the successful implementation of BharatRohan's comprehensive strategic plan. The coaching services will focus on enhancing expertise, addressing regulatory challenges, facilitating entry into international markets, and providing essential training services to farmers.
BharatRohan's advanced hyperspectral imaging technology, capable of distinguishing up to 150 unique wavelengths, forms the foundation of this initiative. This precision tool will provide farmers with personalized advice, revolutionizing traditional agricultural methods. Telangana and Haryana, renowned for their strength in agriculture, particularly in growing turmeric, cotton, and chili, were strategically chosen as the focal points of the partnership.
In essence, BharatRohan's collaboration with ESCAP is poised to pave the way for inclusive business in Indian agriculture, setting a blueprint for the future. Through this initiative, BharatRohan is set to strengthen its position in advancing business opportunities and solidifying its presence in export markets, marking a significant step toward a more sustainable and inclusive agricultural landscape in India.
