In a move to strengthen the agricultural sector and promote self-reliance among farmers, the sub-divisional agriculture office in Changlang district has provided six farmers with brand new tractors under the Atma Nirbhar Krishi Yojana (ANKY). The distribution of tractors took place during a ceremony held at the circuit house, where local MLA and civil supplies minister Kamlung Mossang presented the keys to the elated beneficiaries.

Under the ANKY scheme, the financial assistance breakdown comprises a 45 percent loan amount, a 45 percent subsidy, and a 10 percent contribution from the farmers themselves. This comprehensive support aims to uplift the farming community and empower them to enhance their agricultural activities in a commercial and sustainable manner.

During his address, Minister Mossang emphasized the government's commitment to the well-being and progress of farmers. He encouraged the recipients of the tractors to optimize these valuable assets and utilize them to their full potential. By engaging in agriculture and horticulture as profitable ventures, the farmers can not only improve their own economic status but also contribute to the country's overall GDP growth.

Moreover, the ceremony provided an opportunity for the farmers to gain insights from the State Bank of India (SBI) branch manager, Rakesh Baruah, on loan procedures and repayment modalities.
