Amul Brand Sales Surpass Rs 72,000 Crore Record

The Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which is responsible for marketing dairy products under the brand name Amul, has reported a provisional turnover of Rs 55,055 crore for the financial year that ended on March 31, 2023.

In the fiscal year 2022-23, the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd, which is responsible for marketing the Amul brand of milk and dairy products, achieved a group turnover of over Rs 72,000 crore. This is an increase from the previous year's turnover of Rs 61,000 crore.

The Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), has reported a provisional turnover of Rs 55,055 crore for the financial year that ended on March 31, 2023.

Recently, GCMMF raised the prices of milk throughout the state. The company also mentioned that the increasing demand for branded consumer goods resulted in an 18 percent yearly growth in revenue. Sales of fresh products rose by 21 percent, while ice-cream sales surged by 41 percent. Additionally, consumer products such as cheese, butter, milk beverages, paneer, cream, buttermilk, and dahi experienced growth between 20 to 40 percent.

According to the Chairman of GCMMF, Shamal Patel, the company is planning to achieve a sales turnover of Rs 1,00,000 crore by 2025, considering the estimated growth in market demand for Amul products and their future marketing efforts. Additionally, they aim to sustain a Compound Annual Growth Rate of more than 20% in the following seven years, by increasing their milk procurement, expanding into new markets, introducing new products, and enhancing their milk processing capacities across India.

According to the International Farm Comparison Network (IFCN), GCMMF is currently ranked 8th among the top 20 dairy companies in the world in terms of milk processing.
