The Punjab Police is currently searching for Amritpal Singh, who identifies as a supporter of Khalistan. Meanwhile, farmer leaders in the neighboring state of Haryana believe that there is a conspiracy at play in Singh's sudden prominence.

The leaders suggest that, in addition to political motives, the rise of this self-proclaimed Khalistan sympathizer may be an attempt to undermine the unity between farmers of the two states who recently worked together in a year-long struggle against three controversial farm laws.

The leader of the farming community expressed their apprehension regarding recent developments, given the numerous challenges they are currently grappling with. Severe damage to their crops caused by the recent rain and hailstorm has added to their troubles, and they are also facing difficulties in selling their mustard crop at the minimum support price (MSP) set by the government.

Azad Singh Palwa, a farmer leader from Jind who is currently participating in a dharna protest with other local farmers in Uchana, believes that the issue at hand is a mere conspiracy. Despite actively participating in the farmer movement against the three farm laws, Palwa thinks that the current issue has been blown out of proportion and given unnecessary attention. He suspects that the intention behind highlighting this matter excessively is to create division among people and disrupt the peace in Punjab, possibly for political reasons.

Suresh Koth, another farmer leader from Hisar, stated, "Despite all attempts by opponents to divide us, the farmers of Punjab and Haryana remained united during the farmer's distress. When convoys of Punjab farmers arrived in Haryana, the residents greeted them by offering various forms of assistance. On the other hand, we must not overlook the gurdwaras' continuous supply of food for the protesting farmers."

According to Koth, the president of Akhil Bhartiya Kisan Majdoor Union, "political forces that lack support in Punjab may have played a role in recent events. He also believes that developments based on religion or caste can harm the movements of farmers and laborers.” Koth suggests that “farmers and laborers should be vigilant of such elements and take effective measures to deal with them."

The leader of the farmers expressed their belief that the recent incident involving Amritpal Singh might be a tactic to distract people from more important issues. They pointed out that this incident coincides with the difficulties faced by a prominent corporate player, as well as the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from Lok Sabha and the arrest of Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. All of these events could be viewed as part of a larger attempt to divert public attention from pressing concerns.
