Aditya Lal, Devi Lal's Grandson To Lead Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board
Aditya is the district president of BJP in Sirsa, and he is known for being the son of Jagdish, who is the youngest son of the late Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal.
Aditya Devi Lal, a member of the Chautala family, has been appointed as the chairperson of the Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board (HSAMB), thereby becoming a part of the government. Notably, Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala and Power Minister Ranjit Singh also belong to the same family.
Aditya is the district president of BJP in Sirsa, and he is known for being the son of Jagdish, who is the youngest son of the late Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal. In the previous Assembly elections, Aditya ran as a BJP candidate in Dabwali but was defeated by Congress’ Amit Sihag with a margin of nearly 15,000 votes.
Aditya, who adopted his grandfather's name Devi Lal as his surname, is well-known in BJP circles for his close relationship with Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. He has been vocal in his criticism of JJP leaders, including his cousin Ajay Singh Chautala. Aditya began his political career as a leader of INLD but later left the party to join BJP in 2014.
In 2016, he won the Zila Parishad elections in Ward No. 4 of Sirsa district, defeating Kanta Chautala, who is the wife of INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala and his sister-in-law. Additionally, the JJP leadership showed great interest in the Dabwali Assembly segment, which happens to be the home constituency of Ajay Singh Chautala.
Ajay had previously held the position of MLA from Dabwali in 2009, while his wife Naina Chautala had served as the representative for the same constituency in 2014. In the 2019 Assembly elections, JJP nominated Saravjit Singh Masitan as their candidate, who secured the third position with a total of 23,000 votes.
