The upcoming three-day Kisan Mela, scheduled from February 24th to 26th, 2024, will be hosted by the Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University (RPCAU) in Pusa, Samastipur.

This event aims to boost local farmers and promote innovative agricultural practices that are both sustainable and economically viable. As a leading public central university dedicated to agriculture, RPCAU is into providing advancing food and nutrition security for all, while ensuring the longevity of our environment.

The Kisan Mela will place a strong emphasis on sustainable farming methods, advocating for ecologically sound practices that ensure long-term environmental viability. By minimizing reliance on chemical inputs and prioritizing biodiversity, the organizers aim to make healthy soil, lessen environmental impact, and ultimately enhance agricultural productivity while preserving the delicate balance of nature.

One of the key highlights of the fair will be the demonstration of cutting-edge technologies, including drone and sensor-based innovations. Vice-Chancellor PS Pandey highlighted the collaborative spirit of the event, highlighting the participation of over 180 government and private organizations. With an anticipated attendance of approximately 50,000 farmers from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand, the university is set to ensure accessibility for all. They will provide free accommodation and offer food at a nominal rate, removing any financial barriers that might prevent farmers from participating.

The Kisan Mela will offer farmers a unique opportunity to explore agricultural innovation.
