UPPSC Exam Date 2024: Uttar Pradesh Govt to Fill 268 Vacancies in State Agricultural Department

The Uttar Pradesh government is gearing up to address the shortage of staff in the State Agricultural Department by filling 268 vacancies. The recruitment process will be overseen by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC), which is expected to announce the vacancies in the first week of April.

This recruitment drive will encompass a series of examinations, including preliminary and main exams, along with interviews for certain positions. Interested candidates are urged to apply through the Online Time Registration (OTR) system. It is advised that prospective applicants register in advance to ensure their participation in the selection process.

The forthcoming recruitment cycle is distinct from the one initiated in 2020, which was separate from the Combined State/Higher Subordinate Service (PCS). The previous cycle included various roles such as Officers, Scientists, Superintendents, Principals, and Specialists within the Agriculture Department.

In the 2020 recruitment cycle, out of the 564 advertised posts, 461 were successfully filled through the same selection process. However, 103 vacancies remained unfilled. In response to this situation, the UPPSC has amended the recruitment regulations, leading to the commencement of the advertisement process for fresh vacancies.

Deputy Secretary Virendra Mani Tripathi stressed the importance of applying via the Online Time Registration (OTR) system. He encouraged prospective candidates to register in advance to confirm their eligibility for involvement in the selection process. Additionally, Tripathi highlighted the commencement of the advertisement issuance process and urged agriculture graduates to apply for the examination.

Furthermore, the Commission has announced the postponement of the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) Prelims Exam 2024. According to the notification, the exam, originally scheduled for an earlier date, is now anticipated to be conducted in July 2024. Detailed scheduling information will be released in due course.
