Organic fertilizers that may supply nutrients and support plant growth are considered natural fertilizers.  Thus, incorporating natural fertilizer into the soil can greatly aid in the growth and development of plants. Several nutrients necessary for plant growth, such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sulfur, and magnesium, are found in natural fertilizers.

Animal byproducts and dung are examples of natural fertilizers that come from animal sources. Bones, blood, feathers, and horns are examples of animal by-products that can be ground up and used as organic fertilizer.

Compost

Following are its preparation and applications:-

Preparation

 Gather food scraps, garden trimmings, and other organic waste, such as leaves and grass. Use a compost bin or make a pile of compost. Allow the materials to break down gradually, occasionally turning the pile to provide appropriate aeration.

Application

 Before planting, mix compost into the planting holes or equally distribute it over the garden soil. Compost can also be used as a top treatment for plants that are already established.

Manure

Following are its preparation and applications:-

Preparation

 Gather well-rotted animal waste from animals like cows, horses, chickens, or rabbits. For a few months to a year, let the manure decompose to get rid of any pathogens or dangerous microorganisms.

Application

 Before planting, spread the manure over the garden soil or work it into the ground. Fresh manure shouldn't be applied directly to plant roots because it can burn them.

Bone Meal

 Finely ground animal bones, usually from cattle or fish, are used to make bone meal. It is offered for sale commercially.

 Fish waste and pieces are converted into a liquid fertilizer to create a fish emulsion. It is offered for sale commercially.

Application

 Apply fish emulsion to the soil surrounding plants after diluting it as directed on the packaging. You may also use it as a foliar spray by misting the leaves with a diluted solution.

Seaweed/Kelp Fertilizer

You can either gather seaweed or kelp from beaches or buy it dry or liquid from garden supply stores. It includes trace elements and nutrients that are necessary.

Application

 Follow the directions on the kelp or seaweed fertilizer product label. It is typically applied to the soil surrounding plants or used as a foliar spray after being diluted in water.
