Transplanting in a polyhouse is a common practice used by farmers and gardeners to grow plants in a controlled environment.
Polyhouses are structures made of polyethylene sheets or similar materials, designed to create a greenhouse effect by trapping the heat and humidity inside.
The following are different steps for growing quality transplants in the polyhouse:-
Preparation of Polyhouse
Before transplanting, ensure that the playhouse is clean, well-ventilated, and free of any pests or diseases. Adjust the temperature, humidity, and light levels as required for the plants you are transplanting.
Prepare the Plants
The plants to be transplanted should be healthy, disease-free, and well-rooted. Water them a day before transplanting to help them adapt to the new environment.
Choose the right transplanting method
There are two common methods for transplanting in a polyhouse: bare-root transplanting and pot transplanting. Bare-root transplanting involves removing the plants from their original soil and planting them directly into the ground of the polyhouse. Pot transplanting involves planting the plants in pots and placing the pots in the ground of the polyhouse.
Transplant the plants
Carefully remove the plants from their original soil, being careful not to damage the roots. If using bare-root transplanting, dig a hole in the ground of the polyhouse and insert the plant. If using pot transplanting, remove the plant from the pot and place it in a hole in the ground of the polyhouse.
Water the plants
After transplanting, water the plants thoroughly to help them settle in their new environment.
Monitor and maintain the plants
Regularly monitor the plants for signs of stress or disease, and provide them with appropriate care and maintenance, including fertilization, watering, and pruning.
