National Portal for Rooftop Solar- Here is How You Can Apply and Get Subsidy

With the launch of the National Portal for Rooftop Solar on July 30, 2022, the process of applying for and installing rooftop solar systems has become convenient and straightforward for residential consumers.

This initiative falls under the Rooftop Solar Programme Ph-II, which offers central financial assistance. Residential consumers across India, including regions like Banaskantha in Gujarat, Araria in Bihar, and Jammu and Kashmir, can now apply through the National Portal.

Advantages of National Portal for Rooftop Solar

One of the advantages for consumers is the freedom to choose from registered vendors associated with the local distribution company, allowing them to select high-quality and efficient solar modules, inverters, and other necessary equipment.

Price for National Portal for Rooftop Solar

The pricing for the rooftop solar plant is determined through a mutual agreement between the consumer and the chosen vendor. The role of DISCOMs (distribution companies) is limited to providing technical feasibility approval, facilitating the installation of net meters, and conducting system inspections.

Once the system is successfully installed and inspected, the subsidy is directly transferred to the consumer's bank account. The entire process, from application registration to subsidy disbursement, can be conveniently tracked online through the National Portal.
