Free Electricity for Farmers through Tube Wells: A Game-Changer

One of the key highlights of the scheme is the provision of free electricity for farmers utilizing tube well connections for irrigation. The state government, led by the Yogi Adityanath administration, is taking strides to boost the income of farmers and alleviate their financial burden by waiving off electricity bills associated with tube well connections.

Under the one-time solution scheme, approximately 14 lakh farmers in the state will enjoy the privilege of having their entire electricity bill for tube well connections waived off. Refund of Past Payments: Farmers who have paid electricity bills for tube well connections since April will receive a refund of the amount paid. This ensures that those who have contributed to electricity bills in the past are not left unrewarded.

Surcharge Waiver: The one-time settlement scheme extends to outstanding bills as of March 31, 2023, offering farmers the opportunity to benefit from a 100 percent surcharge waiver on their outstanding electricity bills.
