ROUND BALERS WITH PRO-BELT AND ROLL-BELT

"These new round balers demonstrate New Holland's commitment to providing more options to better meet customer needs, regardless of operation size," says Sally Johnson, vice president of New Holland North America.

The New Holland Pro-Belt 450 and 460 balers are designed to produce solid, square-shouldered bales 35.5-65 inches in diameter and 47.5 inches wide, with a maximum bale weight of up to 2,879 pounds.

These models feature the TwinDrive gearbox, which distributes PTO power evenly to both sides of the baler. When powering through crops, the cut-out clutch can maintain over 1,000-foot pounds of force. To handle larger windrows, the pickup is equipped with a twin-cam drive with 160 tines and a five-bar reel that rotates at 125 rpm.

The Superfood and CropCutter feeding systems both use a 20.5-inch diameter feeder with V-shaped rotors to feed the crop across the entire width of the chamber. The CropCutter features a 13- or 25-knife system that can cut crops as short as 1.7 inches.

To reduce the risk of plugging, the ActiveDrop floor system automatically drops the floor if the crop load becomes too heavy.

The Roll-Belt 450 Utility Plus round baler, like its Pro-Belt sister series, is designed for use on smaller farms and livestock operations. The bales are also a little smaller, measuring 36-60 inches in diameter and 46.5 inches wide, and weighing 400-1,800 pounds. As a result, the 45 PTO HP power requirements are reduced.

The new SuperSweep pickup design built wider with a mechanical stuffer, improves feeding compared to previous models in the Roll-Belt models.

"The pickup is 35% wider to gather large windrows on small farms for easier baling," says Jordan Milewski, New Holland's conventional hay tools marketing manager.

Hayliner Series Square Balers

New Holland is reintroducing the Hayliner brand to all of its small square balers in North America, intending to increase productivity. The Hayliner 265, 275, and 275 Plus are available in three models, each designed for different farming needs ranging from small farms to larger commercial operations. The bale case on all three models measures 14 by 18 inches.

The 265 has a 65-inch SuperSweep pickup with five tine bars and a 93-stroke per minute plunger. The standard-duty twine knotter or the wire twisting systems are available to users. There are also options such as the triple-purpose chute, quarter-turn chute, and Model 72 Bale Thrower.

To gather bulky windrows, the 275 model has a 75-inch wide, six tine bar SuperSweep pickup guided by a pneumatic gauge wheel. The options and wire twisting system are the same as the 265, but the twine knotter has been upgraded to a heavier-duty design with a split frame for serviceability.

The 275 Plus model is designed for commercial operations. The Plus model includes four-way bale tension, cast iron hay wedges, hardened plunger rails, and a bale case that is 12 inches longer and 19% heavier than the standard 275.

New Holland created a precision electronic bale length system for the new series, allowing operators to set and calibrate for accuracy of plus or minus 2 inches. The system predicts the thickness of the next flake by measuring the total bale length and each flake, and then trips the knotter.
