Former IT Employee Turns to Agriculture, Provides Employment to Locals

When Satya Prabin left his IT job in Malaysia for agriculture in Rayagada, his confidence fueled a remarkable transformation. Satya, a software engineer turned farmer, returned to his roots, inspired by his father's farming legacy. Cultivating 34 acres with modern techniques like the drip system, drip where tubes are arranged across the field, delivering both water and fertilizer to individual plants, he grows diverse vegetables using organic fertilizer.

Armed with a green thumb and a desire for agrarian livelihood, he resigned from his high-paying IT position and, with determination, embraced agriculture in his village. Satya has not only achieved personal success but also provided employment to around 60 locals.

Kameswar Rao, a laborer, expressed that the approach used for cultivating vegetables is unfamiliar to the villagers, but the results are highly promising. Rayagada Block Development Officer (BDO) Laxmi Narayan Sabat mentioned that Collector Swadha Dev Singh visited Satya's farmland and commended his efforts.

Sabat encouraged small-scale farmers to emulate Satya's example by growing vegetables on their agricultural lands with organic fertilizer. This practice not only promote self-sufficiency and financial improvement but also contributes to healthier produce.

His innovative approach to vegetable cultivation, employing a new method, has garnered praise from the community and officials alike, setting a compelling example for sustainable and prosperous agriculture.
