Protecting plants from pests, diseases, and weeds is crucial for ensuring their healthy growth and maximizing crop yield. Sprayers and dusters are essential agricultural tools that aid in safeguarding plants by applying pesticides, fungicides, and fertilizers efficiently.

Effective farm management plays a very key role in ensuring a profitable increase in productivity. Due to a lack of micro and macronutrients in soil, the farmlands are becoming more prone to drought, vulnerable to pest infestation, and have become frequently irrelevant. Therefore to monitor crops the sprayers and dusters are to be used accordingly.

Sprayers

Agriculture sprayers are used for the application of water and water treated with chemicals for enhancing crop growth or pest control. Plant sprayers are to be applied directly on the surface of plant leaves. The substances used in sprayers include pesticides, fertilizers, herbicides, etc used in liquid form.

Types of Sprayers

They are of the following types:-

Pre-harvest sprayers- They play a crucial role in preparing crops for mechanical harvesting by defoliating or conditioning them. The application of growth regulators helps enhance fruit production or prevent premature fruit drop, while sprays are utilized for thinning the blossoms of common fruits.

Bug Sprayers- They are used for pest control in plants. They manage and identify plant contamination using the application of fungicides. Weeds can easily be identified and hence eradicated.

Powder Dusters- It's a dry chemical dispensing machine that is widely used in orchards and vineyards. They ensure uniform coverage and can carry 50 kg of powder at a time.

Designed with a powder container, Knapsack Dusters offer ease of handling and operation. Allow mobility with precise application, and seamless relocation.

Rotary Duster- They are used to spray chemicals in powder form. They are flexible and can easily reach narrower regions. This duster is widely used to dust on crops like sorghum, vegetables, and many more.

Plunger Type- It's available with a small piston. They consist of small handpumps used widely in regions consisting of small vegetable gardens.

Correct Timing- It is essential to apply treatments at the right stage of plant growth and when pests or diseases are most susceptible. Regular monitoring and early detection are key to timely intervention.

Proper Mixing and Dilution- To guarantee precise mixing and dilution of chemicals to achieve the appropriate concentration, refer to the manufacturer's instructions. For accurate measurements, use calibrated measuring equipment.

Targeted Application- Direct sprays and dusters towards the plant foliage, avoiding drift and excessive runoff. Proper nozzle selection and adjustment help in achieving targeted application, minimizing wastage and environmental impact.

Safety Precautions- Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and masks are to be used while handling chemicals.

Equipment Maintenance- To regularly monitor the activities performed by them. Regular cleaning of sprayers and dusters will ensure optimal performance. Replace worn-out nozzles and parts, and conduct routine inspections to avoid clogs or leaks during application.
