CM Distributed Tractors and Power-Tillers to Farmers In Arunachal Pardesh

CM, Mentioned Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in his Speech

Speaking on the occasion, Singh observed that the state has seen a fast improvement in organic farming in the past few years. and, he said that the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare approved only 15,000 hectares of land for organic farming in the state.

Urging the people to be sincere, hard-working, and committed no matter in what profession they are, CM, Biren said that no community in this world can match the people in any field if they work hard with conviction and sincerity.

“The talent of Manipuri people, culture, arts, crafts, and indigenous produce are well acknowledged by the people of other States and countries,” he said.

Stating that it has been his belief that Manipur would prosper when horticulture plants are abundantly grown in the hills of the state, he exhorted the hill-people to grow plants like turmeric, ginger, pineapple, banana, etc. instead of poppy plants.

Arunanchal Government Would Never Indulge in Any Form of Nepotism

Lauding the Horticulture and Social Conservation Department for taking up many encouraging tasks in the past few years, he also assured that the present Government would never indulge in any form of nepotism in awarding promotion and rewards to any employee of the state government.

Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture

The CM handed over one power tiller, one brush cutter, and some other inputs to Farmers’ Altogether 22 farmers from the districts of Imphal East, Imphal West, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur, and Senapati were given 9 tractors and 13 power tillers at the subsidized rate in the first phase of farm mechanization of the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) scheme (2018-19) under the aegis of the Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department.

A subsidy of Rs 1 lakh each on tractors and Rs 75,000 each on power tillers have been given to the selected beneficiaries for buying the machinery by the department.

An assistance of Rs 57.50 lakh has been provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India for procuring 50 numbers of power tillers and 20 numbers of tractors which will be distributed to the selected beneficiaries in phase-wise.

Speaking on the occasion, CM said that the collective effort of the stakeholders will help in raising the income of the farmers and boost the economy of the State.

Expressing the hope that the help from the Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department will surely boost the confidence of the farmers, he stated that the Government is helping the selected farmers to lend a helping hand to the needy farmers so that all the farmers can work hard to increase the crop production.

Participating in the tractor distribution function, Principal Secretary JC Ramthanga of horticulture said that the department aims to increase the productivity of the agriculturist and horticulturist in the state and to make the state fully organic.
