Tractor plays an essential role in performing different agricultural operations. To carry heavy loads like backhoes, shovels, etc they can be used easily. To carry all tractor parts in one frame tractor chassis are therefore used. The tractor Chassis is altogether a base frame in which all components are assembled including the Engine, Transmission, Tires, Front Axle, Electrical Systems, and Steering Systems. 

FUNCTIONS

The design of the chassis frame plays a crucial role in effectively supporting the various assemblies such as the engine, transmission, and steering in a tractor. Here are the key points regarding the load management capabilities of the chassis frame:

Interconnected Wheels: The chassis frame connects the rear and front wheels of the tractor, ensuring proper load distribution and stability during operation.

Implement Support: The chassis frame is made to support the weight of the implements that are mounted to the tractor, enabling the smooth and effective transportation of extra machinery.

Handling Uneven Fields: When working on unlevel ground, the chassis structure effectively manages the increased load produced, ensuring stability and avoiding undue stress on the tractor's parts.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF CHASSIS FRAME

They are divided into two types:-

  1. Tractor with the Chassis frame
  1. Tractor without a Chassis frame

TRACTOR WITH CHASSIS FRAME

The engines present in this machine are lightweight. They can not bear extra load. Usually, the chassis frame is connected to the front cross member in front side and the transmission box is attached to the rear side.

TRACTOR WITHOUT CHASSIS FRAME

They operate without the need for a separate chassis frame. Instead, the engine block itself assumes the role of supporting and structurally reinforcing the tractor. These robust machines are designed to meet the demanding requirements of agricultural operations. In this design, the front section of the engine block is securely connected to the front cross member, while the rear portion of the engine block is attached to the transmission box. The front axle remains fixed in its position at the front end.
