When to Apply:-

Farmers can benefit greatly from the Prime Minister's Fasal Bima Yojana in seasonal conditions. Farmers can protect themselves financially by insuring their crops through the Prime Minister's Fasal Bima Yojana. The deadline for PMFBY registration is July 31.

PMFBY registration is very simple. Karnataka Minister BC Patil announced on his social media account that crop insurance week has begun and that due to the monsoon season, the registration deadline has been extended until July 31. The government is requesting that more farmers secure their crops by having their Kharif crops insured under this scheme.

Along with Karnataka, farmers in Andhra Pradesh will benefit from crop damage insurance. Farmers in Andhra will be protected under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. Andhra Pradesh will also implement the scheme beginning in Kharif 2022 by joining the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. The scheme will benefit over 40 lakh farmers in the state.

Application Procedure and Documents Required: 

Farmers can obtain crop insurance through www.pmfby.gov.in in a bank, cooperative society, or CSC. Farmers will need an Aadhar card, a bank account number, and land and crop sowing documents to obtain crop insurance. If a farmer has a KCC account in a bank, he must also inform the bank to obtain insurance. In addition, the bank will have to confirm that the crop was planted in their field this time.

The amount payable under insurance is as follows:

Concerning the amount covered by this scheme, the premium amount has been kept very low to take into account each farmer's economic situation. Farmers must pay a premium of approximately 3% of the Kharif crop, 2% of the Rabi crop, and 5% of the horticulture crop to the insurance company on which they are insured under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana. However, if you farm commercially, your insurance premium will be different.

The cotton crop received Rs 36282 under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, the paddy crop received Rs 37484, the millet crop received Rs 17639, the maize crop received Rs 18742, and the moong crop received Rs 16497. The guaranteed sum will be available per acre.

Farmers are protected by insurance in the event of crop failure or damage. If a farmer's crop is destroyed due to natural disasters, the insurance company must be notified within 72 hours.
