Pruning Shears

Hand pruners, also known as secateurs are a common tool of backyard farming and help reign in plants that are getting out of control and taking over. Anvil-style pruners cut with a sharp blade meeting a flat surface, similar to a knife on board. The bypass tool has a sharp blade passing by a sharp-edged flat surface, more like scissors.

Spade

These short-handled square shovels are known as a spade, commonly use to make easy work of digging holes for plants, edging, lifting sod, and moving small mounds of dirt from one area to another. 

Hoe 

What type of hoe is best for you depends on the kind of backyard farm you have. A small veggie farm may require a sturdy, wide hoe. How hoe helps in backyard farming:-

• It helps in preparing garden and flower beds and cutting down weeds.
• The hoe is comfortable to handle with a long reach.
• A sharp blade makes it work better and is easier to use.

Loppers

Another cutting tool, loppers are basically long-handled pruners used to trim hard-to-reach areas and cut thicker branches. The long handles provide the advantage to cut through branches up to an inch or more in the right diameter. There are two types one is an anvil and other bypass types, just like pruners. Looper handles generally cover the range from 16 to 36 inches.

Wheelbarrow

• If your backyard has extra soil to be shifted or wiped around or heavy lifting and moving tasks, a wheelbarrow can help you haul hundreds of pounds with  traditional dual-handle
• Single-handle two-wheel models are easier to balance and better for those with limited strength or when pulling over uneven terrain.

• Keep it clean and dry, water can cause rust.
